Community Impact Organization

Non-profit Experts, Serving Non-profit Leaders

Our Story

We didn’t start in nonprofit leadership because we wanted a title—we started because we couldn’t ignore the people.

For more than two decades, We’ve had the privilege of walking alongside leaders who carry a unique weight: caring deeply about a mission while trying to keep an organization healthy, funded, staffed, and moving forward. If you’ve ever felt that tension—heart on fire, capacity running thin—you’re not alone.

The Pattern We Kept Seeing

Across different organizations, different communities, and different seasons, we kept seeing the same thing: when a nonprofit leader gets the right support, clarity, and accountability, the whole organization can change.

Not overnight. Not by hype. But through steady, intentional leadership.

What We’ve Done (and What It Taught Us)

Our senior leadership have served as Executive Director, Chief Program Officer or Chief of Staff in multiple nonprofits and they helped organizations scale dramatically—twice growing organizations by 15X. Along the way, we’ve led turnarounds, built teams, strengthened boards, diversified revenue, and navigated the real-life challenges that don’t show up in textbooks (including thriving during the COVID years!).

One season we’re especially proud of was serving as senior leaders at a statewide nonprofit, where we were directly responsible for securing $1.1M in new funding commitments in less than 4 months, effectively doubling the organization to almost $3M.

Before nonprofit leadership, we worked in the for-profit world— leadership, operations, project management, and systems work. That experience shaped how we coach today: mission-first, yes—but also practical, structured, and built to last.

Why Community Impact Organization?

Community Impact Organization exists because too many nonprofit leaders are trying to do heroic work with too little support.

You’re expected to be visionary and detailed, pastoral and professional, relational and results-driven—all while managing board dynamics, funding pressure, staff challenges, and community needs.

Our mission is to equip and empower nonprofit leaders to maximize their impact in local communities.

How We Help?

We coach and train leaders of nonprofits—especially those in the $50k–$5M budget range—because that’s where leadership decisions have an outsized impact and where support is often the hardest to find.

We focus on:

  • Leadership clarity and confidence
  • Healthy accountability (without shame)
  • Strong boards and engaged volunteers
  • Sustainable growth and revenue diversification
  • Practical tools you can use immediately

The Heart Behind It

Our faith is an important part of who we are, and it has shaped how we lead—especially in the hard seasons. We believe leadership is stewardship, and that the best leaders don’t just build organizations; they build people.

If You’re Ready to Lead With Strength

If you’re tired of drifting and ready to lead with intention, We’d love to help.  We have multiple entry levels that all non-profit leaders can afford.  We even teach you how to include this professional development into your funding requests.  And sometimes, we receive grants to provide our services to some non-profit leaders at low or no cost.

You don’t need more noise. You don’t need more theory.  You need proven systems.

You need a clear plan, the right tools, and someone who will walk with you—so your mission can grow without you burning out.

Let’s talk.

Coaching Testimonials

Tina Trimmer
Portland, OR

I spent a year coaching with Todd, and I have to say I made the most significant strides of my career.  Not only did Todd provide practical guidance around nonprofit leadership but he made me feel so much more confident personally. Toward the end of our year together, I moved into a new executive director role, started my own LLC for consulting services and tripled my income.  I am truly grateful for the progress I made.  I know that his coaching made all the difference for me, allowing me to step into the place I was meant to be.

Kathy Milam

Todd coached me for 15 months while I was president of a local nonprofit organization.  His vast experience in fundraising and leadership was extremely helpful to me.  After each session I was always energized and told myself - I can do this!  I highly recommend working with him!

Brenda Herschberger
Coffee County, TN

I was coached by Todd for a little over two years to help our local nonprofit affiliate to grow.  Along with guidance, Todd also listened to me.  I truly believe his coaching has made a big difference.  I would highly recommend him and know that any leader would benefit from his coaching.
